Florida was impacted by Hurricane Milton – a Category 3 storm – on Wednesday, October 9th with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph that swept across the Gulf Coast and Central Florida damaging power lines, trees, homes, and businesses. The Florida Department of Children and Families has transitioned into response and recovery and is utilizing supports to ensure that Florida families have every available resource at their disposal.

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) provides food assistance for individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton and who are not receiving food assistance through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). In partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, D-SNAP is implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families (Department).

D-SNAP has ended in all 28 counties. All pre-registration and on-site events are now closed.

The period for requesting the replacement of food assistance due to Hurricane Milton ended October 23rd, 2024.

 

 

 


 

Hot Foods

The period for requesting hot foods due to Hurricane Milton ended November 15th, 2024.
