Prevention Partnership Grants (PPG)

Beginning in 2001, the Florida legislature (Florida Statute 397.99) made the decision to designate funds from the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPTBG) to substance abuse prevention for a multi-agency collaborative effort.

Every three years, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program Office conducts a competitive grant process for the school substance abuse Prevention Partnership Grant (PPG), in cooperation with the Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

The PPG program funds evidence-based substance use prevention programs and strategies intended to prevent or reduce substance use. Applications should demonstrate a clear, precise connection between local risk and protective factors that impact prevention and current need for the program or strategy selected to address the state priorities for consumption reductions in: 1) Underage Drinking; 2) Marijuana Use; and 3) Non-Medical Prescription Drug Use.
