DCF COVID-19 Information

Mental Health Treatment Facilities

  • DCF Secretary Chad Poppell has directed all state mental health treatment facilities to extend admission suspensions through May 31. Additionally, with no new admissions, facilities are using this time to identify and implement isolation and quarantine units. After admissions resume, new patients will have to quarantine for 14-days before being released to a treatment unit.
  • DCF implemented strategies for COVID-19 prevention at all three state mental health treatment facilities, as well as the South Florida mental health facilities run by Wellpath Recovery Solutions, a contracted partner. They are reporting daily updates to ensure compliance with virus prevention and monitor potential outbreaks.
